Second Lieutenant Daniel P. Berry
On Saturday, May 14th, Orange oarsman, Dan Berry, graduated with his fellow seniors at a graduation ceremony held at the team's pre-Sprints dinner in Worcester. On Sunday, the Orange varsity bowman race in his final Eastern Sprints and helped the squad to a fifth place finish in the varsity race and 5th place finish in the team point standings. But on Monday, May 16th, he carried through on his biggest committment of the weekend--he was commissioned in the US Army as a Second Lieutenant. For the last four years Dan has balanced his time between academics, rowing, and being one of the top officer candidates in the Syracuse Army ROTC program. After the IRA, Dan will report to duty with the 326th Engineering Battalion in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
