SU Men's Winter Training

Coach Reischman continues to scour the globe for the ideal winter training venue. His criteria: the best rowing water along with the fewest team distractions. For 2010, he has outdone himself.

WELCOME TO LOUISIANA!

Yes, from January 9 - 17, the SU Men will enjoy the comforts of the bunkhouses at the Bayou Segnette State Park in balmy Louisiana where they will row distraction-free with the promise of returning to SU lightning-fast!

TripAdvisor gave the park 3.5 stars and listed the attractions as "viewing wildlife". Hmmm....

SU Women Winter Training in Florida

SU Coach Kris Sanford invites local and interested alums to come watch the team in action during the January 2010 break in Stewart, FL.

The first Florida practice will be on January 9th, the last on January 16th. Alums that live in or are vacationing in the area are welcome to contact Kris in advance to arrange to watch practice from the comfort of the Coach’s launch!

Challenging Times in College Athletics

It is about the financial challenges facing Stanford and is a story that is being played out in every athletic department around the country. Alumni support is going to be crucial to every collegiate sports team in the country well into the foreseeable future.

Foot of the Charles - Saturday, November 14, 2009

The SU Women will be in Boston this weekend and will be racing the Foot of the Charles on Saturday morning (November 14).  Come cheer them on!

The team will be launching from the Weld Boathouse on Memorial Drive.

Kris is bringing 4 Varsity 4+ and 2 Novice 8's. 

Race times: 

• Varsity 4+:  9:45 a.m.
• Novice 8:  10:30 a.m.

Other teams scheduled to participate:
Boston College, Brown University, Dartmouth College, MIT, Northeastern, Radcliffe, Rutgers, Buffalo, University of RI, UMass Amherst and UNH.  Some great competition.
